DRAMA: Meru Governor Hon Munya STORMS OUT of DP Ruto’s meeting, DENOUNCES Uhuru’s Jubilee Party

Date:

There was Drama in Nkubu, Meru when County Governor Peter Munya stormed out of a meeting convened by Deputy President William Ruto.

DP Ruto, who has been on the road in recent months consolidating support for the Jubilee Party ahead of the 2017 polls, had camped at the Council of Governors Chair (COG) backyard to ramp up support for the new political outfit.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Munya stated that he will not bow to political pressure aimed at making him stand with Jubilee in the next polls. He denouced the new Jubilee party and said he will not be forced to join some party.

“Come rain or shine, nobody, no matter their position, can force me, to join a party. In 2017 I will ask for votes under another party, not Jubilee,” Munya said.

Following his statement, members of the public – who were in favour of the Jubilee Party agenda –jeered the COG Chair prompting him to leave the meeting abruptly. However Hon Munya was also acclaimed by his sopporters who said the Meru will not follow blindly any political formation without proper and wide consultations.

Governor Munya has in the past opposed Jubilee Alliance’s move to disband constituent parties in favour of one joint party.
