Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja says he plans to sponsor a motion that’ll help set aside funds to cater for people with disabilities.
According to Hon Sakaja, people with disabilities have been neglected for a long time yet they are an integral portion that makes our society complete.
Speaking in a City hotel, the Senator said that the disabled deserve some funding that’ll empower them and help them better their lives without depending on begging.
The Senator also announced December 9 as the day he will flag off the MALAIKA DISABILITY WALK at CITAM Valley road, the program he co-sponsors with MALAIKA TRIBUTES AWARDS.
The Senator had this to say:
“People with disabilities play a crucial role in our community. The society remains incomplete without them. If well empowered, people with disabilities can do things better than we that are able- bodied. Goldalyn Kakuya is a good example. She beat everyone in the country and topped in KCPE. It doesen’t matter their tribe or race. Persons with dissabilities are our brothers and sisters and they deserve to be treated equally”
