A contingent of policemen sent by Interior CS Fred Matiangi today morning stormed the office of Dagoretti North MP hon Simba Arati to have him arrested but did not succeed to get him.
The raid comes a day after the successful swearing in of the people’s President H.E. Raila Odinga where hon Arati played a primary role.
Further, the government through the Firearm Licensing Board has revoked his firearm certificate NO. 10242 on unreasonable grounds that he is unfit to posses one.
After the unsuccessful raid in the morning, State House operatives dropped in his office a revocation letter authorising the MP to surrender his firerm before the end of business today.
Matiangi has also withdrawn hon Arati’s security detail, hence exposing his life. Experts say when such steps are taken, it signposts to a possible assassination plot. Hon Arati is a clear target.
It is now clear that this government is desperate to have members of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) silenced.
For hon Simba Arati, there is more than meet an eye. Someone wants him silenced because of his firmness on the fight against government oppression as well as his Dagoretti North Seat.
It is also clear that Matiangi does not wish his brother well and is out to silence him.
If anything happens to hon Simba Arati, Members of the Gusii Community will never forgive Matiangi.
