To the great people of the great republic of Kenya, August 8, 2017, will never be august. It was the day they went to the polling station en mass to bury the shackles of perpetual slavery. It was the day they were openly determined to resist and reject the criminals who sought to throw them into the political, social and economic captivity. It was the day they fearlessly elected to expel domination and oppression.
It was the day they readily defied the crooks and criminals in police uniform deployed by the government to intimidate, harass and pilfer their inalienable right to elect a President of their choice under a free, fair, credible and peaceful election. They voted for Raila Amolo Odinga and did so successfully but their victory was stolen. The Supreme Court unmasked unmasked the the thieves and the rest is history.
Sadly, one of the people who were sabotaging him from within is ANC Secretary General Barack Muluka. Barack, either a quinquagenarian in his late fifties or a sexagenarian in his early sixties – I am unsure of his age bracket – connived with the enemy to steal Baba’s victory. It is now an open secret.
But you see, karma is a bitch and poetic justice is a bastard. Unfortunately both have combined to wrong-foot “professor” Barrack Muluka and make him look like a big mistake and an act of misjudgment by the professors who supervised the dissertation he buttressed in the university.
I have always regarded Barrack Muluka as a man of very passionate convictions, but lately I have started to wonder about the motives that drive his recent hate and despise towards the person of the person of the people’s president My Excellency Raila Odinga. Barack behaves as if he is more Catholic than the Pope of Vatican. He acts as if he is more Christian than Judas Iscariot.
Well, suffice to say, the passion and enthusiasm that Muluka has shown in fighting Raila makes me think there is something supernatural about power and closeness to it. Damn! The industriousness, at which this man is talking nonsense of H.E. Raila Odinga, can only be compared to that of a bouncy castle instructor.
His conversations are encompassed with blatant falsehoods, hate and innuendos. But the question is, all these things Muluka keeps murmuring about, is he speaking for himself or he is just a mouthpiece for Mudavadi? He is Mudavadi’s asset after all. The atrocities attributed to him are enough to say enough is enough.
In the weekly column that I was once privileged to maintain, I penned that if this country has true professors, some half-baked blokes like Barrack Muluka would not be eligible to make the bracket.
Forget about his glittering prowess in oratory. Remember former Germany Chancellor and NAZI Führer once chronicled, the mastery of the queen’s language can never be a measure of intelligence level. Muluka is not an exception nevertheless. After all, never make fun of someone who speaks broken English, it means they know another language.
On all fronts, I find Muluka’s frenzy wanting. Why would this man go ballistic and suddenly start hurling oral torrents of insult at the person of the people’s President H.E. Raila Odinga? It is unfortunate that today ANC is saddled with an inept and clueless administration with a penchant for things absurd especially after Barack held sway.
Muluka is just a desperate man. He has suddenly realized that his flowery language is bankrupt of substance. This bloke that cannot package his party leader Musalia Mudavadi as a morally upright statesman deserves no respect. The clay feet of a man who thought he knew better than anyone else has been exposed. What a personal tragedy. This is a man is ever so mindful of his self importance.
Muluka fooled Mudavadi that under his watch, the former Vice President’s name would propel to greater heights. But under him and another idiot called Kibisu Kabatesi, a jumbo amount of money has been spent with poor results. As a result, Mudavadi’s status has worsened. I once told Muluka that coalitions are not easy to run but when one claims to know it all, he is unquestionably bound to face contradictions. At ANC, every problem solved, generates three other problems.
Muluka must know that people choose leaders because they trust they can lead and protect them. What was Muluka thinking when he advised his boss against attending Baaba’s swearing in? Peradventure, they wanted Raila to be charged for treason and killed then take over NASA leadership but Uhuru was wiser. When Raila was betrayed, he kept quiet.
That they were left out of the Harambee House confab, they won’t let us sleep. Let them swallow the bitter pill of their own medicine uncomplainingly. After all, karma is a bitch and poetic justice is a bastard.
Lawlessness and lies have made ANC ungovernable. And the situation has been worsened by Muluka’s ineffective leadership. He should be the last person to lecture Raila about leadership, integrity and politics of betrayal.
It saddens my heart that Barack Muluka has become a source of breaking news. I countenance that in this country, journalism is dead. Any person, – whether a lunatic – like my guest today in this essay, – a thug, a frustrated housewife, a job seeker masquerading as a politician, has become a source of “breaking news” Credibility is no longer of paramount importance.
Just like his friend PLO Lumumba – another text book scholar who talks big but does nothing – Barack has never inspired me. He is devoid of professorial demeanors. PLO and Barack are academic lame ducks that use their “wonderful” gifts of the gab to deceive credulous Kenyans.
Their mediocrity cannot escape the discriminating eye of a vigilant academic cognoscente. Although my Abagusii people say “The bird that stays too long in the tree attracts a stone” the two individuals have boringly overstayed in JKL and it’s about time Jeff considers chasing them away for good.
I once came across a book written by one of these “professors” who obviously and would not go beyond the first page on account of abominable errors and lack of creativity. I then wondered to myself, how can this so called professor – who obviously does not require an editor, – commit such abominable grammatical errors? I called senior writer and journalist Silas Gisiora Nyanchwani to ask him why the professor has he elected to mislead learners at such an early stage of life? – Talk of academic masquerade of sorts.
Someone should tell Muluka that Raila Odinga is not his age mate. Unlike his boss Musalia Mudavadi, Raila Odinga is a man of unmatched pedigree of integrity, courage and vision. He has left no one in doubt that he is ready to take this nation to greater heights and make Kenyan citizens respected and admired once again in the comity of nations. Raila is the only man who is ready to tackle a myriad of problems besetting this country.
Muluka and his boss Madividi are accomplished cowards. But one thing I want to tell him, the swearing-in ceremony he misadvised his party to eschew drove the last nail on his boss Mudavadi’s political career. And that it is as a result of that swearing-in that the historical handshake was birthed. It is the same handshake that represents a glorious chapter in the annals of struggle to make life more abundant for the valiant people of this great republic of Kenya.
Also, tell Muluka that his wizardry in spoken English does not add any lustre to the lives of Kenyans. Unlike him whose only achievement is some publishing plant, Raila has fought harder for this country. He should let him be and enjoy the fruits of his struggle. As they say “The harder the fight, the sweeter the victory” As the people’s president, Raila’s victory signposts the triumph of the over cluelessness, ineptitude, impunity, bad governance and brazen corruption by those elected to serve. Not even Mudavadi can match him. As the Turkana proverb puts it “The rock that is in the middle of the ocean, does not fear rain” Barack has not respected himself, he therefore cannot demand respect from others.
Barack must seize the moment and repent his political sins and apologize to Baaba too. If not, he will have himself to blame, like Shakespeare said in Julius Caesar “The fault dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves” This is his chance to swallow the pride and make amends. By apologizing and turning over a new leaf, he will set an exemplary example that will be the future guiding light as far as political and academic case studies are concerned.
