I know it’s getting exceedingly hard to make ends meet and when you look around it seems that it’s only the bad guys that keep winning. So now you’re tempted to be the bad guy. Steal like them, if you can. Deceive like them, if you can. Con like them, if you can. But what you miss behind the fancy convoys and lavish lifestyle is that some people can’t walk into a room and be comfortable. They are constantly looking over their shoulder, afraid to bump into someone that they messed up. They are afraid of the food served at home or in public because they are sure that one of the guys they have wronged will poison them. They are paranoid, they are scared.
Some sleep in homes with disappearing stairwells, such is their fear. If you don’t end up dead or in jail you have to contend with poor health from the stress of it all. Others have seen the wrath meant for them taken out on their family members, even their parents.
The bad guys are NOT winning. You are. You have peace of mind and no one can put a price on that. Live your life honestly. Make a clean buck. Bad times are not static. Neither are good times, so don’t judge people by what they have. Judge them by who they are. Their character.
Be at peace with God. When you get a good night’s sleep, remember that the bad guys, with all their money, never can. Do good and good follows. Whatever your vocation, you matter. You are here for a reason. And what you do for someone today may have a ripple effect that can change the world. The bad guy can never win – if today, YOU choose not to be one of them.
