During transition period the people who are employed by government or the beneficiaries of the incumbent government are always in denial because of the fear of the unknown.
There appear to be rumblings of resistance of some sort to accept to let the government go.There’s a sense that the allegiance of bureaucrats to their agency is somehow more important than their allegiance to the system thus any government will get rid of the officials.
It happens universally, even Obama did it ,so these govt officials usually put up resistance to have new government taking over.
Case in point ,in 2002, there were KANU diehards who did not believe Moi was going to be out of power( Uhuru was to act as political umbrella and retain them)until the Kakamega chaos happened during NARC rallies when KANU campaign team led by Moi were pelted with stones that is when it hit them that they were losing, they went out to advise Moi to rig the elections or not hand over power.
In 2013 there were guys who kept advising Kibaki to stay put( remember him rebuking such people as hypocrites? )remember the insistance of Musalia as candidate by deep state(I like MDVD anyway).
In 2022 the scenario won’t be different… those who do not know where they will go are the ones insisting on handshake politics not because of interest of Kenyans but for their own interest.. no matter what happens during transition there will always be changes I promise you only 1% of the current CS will be in the govt post 2022 or none….same will happen in other departments…..Change is always resisted but it is inevitable….
