BEING a lone ranger in a highly active political scene like the present Kenya is suicidal. It’s the quickest way to die kisiasa.
Because even an armature snipper can take you down, just like a lonely buffalo. And William has realized it.
Forget about the ordinary mwananchi supporter whose only capital for you is a vote. In politics, a vote is only a drop in a very big ocean of things. And when you are lonely even that common voter will start doubting you.
As soon as you realize you are becoming lonely, you must run quickly. And keep running. The same way you tell a fainting man to keep eyes open and keep breathing to avoid sliding into a full slumber.
In politics, as soon as your allies realise you are becoming lonely they don’t help you, they desert you.
So when you realize you are now standing alone, you must quickly join the simingly winning team. You better come out later or explain your action, but first join it.
And if you are shy like William, ask your few footsoldiers to join first. Then you follow them.
WHEN President Uhuru Kenyatta needed someone to stand in for him during the opening of an induction course for the new Chief Administrative Secretaries (CASs) his Super CS Dr Fred Matiangi came to mind.
Uhuru is away and as per the law, his deputy William Ruto stands in for him.
But the President sent Matiangi for the two day induction, with a message to civil servants to focus on service delivery.
The President has in the recent weeks concentrated more on working with those who are working. He has allowed those keen on politics to have ample time for that. Among those given the time is former CS MWANGI Kiûnjûri and the DP.
Matiangi delivered the message that Uhuru wants all Government officials to
focus on service delivery so as to solidify the one-government approach.
The induction of is happening at the Kenya
School of Government (KSG) in Kabete, Kiambu County
The President reshuffled his Cabinet on 14th
January 2020 and brought in 10 new CASs and fired Kiûnjûri.
The CASs are being trained on Government policy and their roles and responsibilities in enhancing Government agenda.
