Thousands of Kericho residents rejected DP William Ruto’s apology and instead thronged Kapkatet stadium, Bureti subcounty, on Friday for a rally to drum up support for Kanu’s Kericho senator candidate Paul Sang.
Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto hosted Jubilee rebels and top Kanu officials led by Chairman Gideon Moi to the meeting of about 40,000 held ahead of the March 7 by-election.
Sang will face Jubilee candidate Aaron Cheruiyot in the senate race.
Senators Zipporah Kittony (Nominated), John Lonyangapuo (West Pokot) and Stephen Ntutu (Narok) were among those present.
