The British have made their bed, and don’t want to lie in it! Lol
It was clear from the word go- a chance of a lifetime- any decision to LEAVE or REMAIN in the EU would be irreversible! Following the LEAVE win, the losing side wants a rerun of the referendum! Over 3.4 million people have signed a petition to parliament seeking a change in the law to allow a rerun! Lol!!! It is the largest petition EVER.
Normally, any petition that gathers 100,000 signatures gets the attention of parliament for a debate. Thankfully on this one, despite the fact that parliament will have to discuss it, it’ll be just to dismiss it. As UKIP leader has just answered in his manner, the referendum wasn’t based on “The best of three”! Lol – Farage can be very funny! Over 46 million people voted. That was over 70% voter turnout- which was in itself historic. Even if the petition was to garner 5 million signatures, it’d still be a nonsense. You cannot begin to move the goalposts after you’ve lost in a game and demand a rerun!
Meanwhile British politics has taken a twist. Infighting within the two leading parties with the Tories in a real leadership crisis with the likes of Boris Johnson as likely to fill the vacuum-and Labour rebels are shouting for Corbyn to step down. Corbyn is unwelcome by the establishment because of his socialist ideology. He has a huge mandate though which is a dilemma for criminals like Blair who’d rather have a Tory or a libdem take over from Cameron.
Talking about the liberal democrats though is as good as imagining a resurrection. They say they’ll rejoin the EU soonest they are in charge. It’s laughable considering it’s been a century since they were in charge. They squandered their chance when they went to bed with Cameron. He used them like one would use a prostitute. Brilliant politicians the likes of Vince Cable and Sir Ming Campbell disappeared into oblivion. The libdems are dead basically and their resurrection is not happening tomorrow as Nick Clegg would have you believe!
Back to labour: Corbyn’s weakness has been his gentle manner but today he cracked the whip on Hillary Benn! Benn comes from a good family- but money, hunger for power and influence have led him astray. He’d been trying to steal the show from Corbyn for sometime- with the EU outcome, he got the excuse to incite the shadow cabinet to rebel. Corbyn sacked him. I am 101% his own father Benn Sr. Would have cracked the whip on his son. Some irrelevant labour MPs continue with the noise but am hoping Corbyn ignores the lot of them.
Up in Scotland, Sturgeon is demanding a second referendum on Scottish independence claiming 62% of her people preferred to REMAIN. Indeed of course but clearly democracy is being undermined. The Scots had a chance to secede if they wanted but they allowed cats like Gordon Brown to sweet talk them- Alex Salmond had worked so hard and disappointingly accepted the outcome knowing another Scottish referendum wouldn’t be on the table for at least another 30 years. He must be so impressed with Sturgeon. With that card, she puts Ruth Davidson out! There can be NO Tory influence in Scotland!
Then there’s the question of the Northern Irish. They are so problematic that Ireland has never really articulated an interest in the province. Britain can have her. Keep her! It doesn’t matter if Irish people have an EU border dividing the self-same tribe! And the Welsh? All they want is that their language is recognised and preserved even though only 3 people speak it- and they’ll go along with England almost on any issue. The Londoners though…. Hahahaha- they want independence! Self declared and then, apply to rejoin the EU!
At this moment, the last standing man is Jeremy Corbyn of Labour- he’s set to scrap Trident, halt austerity, squeeze the rich- with a reformed foreign policy and the establishment doesn’t like that very much. They are dangling the immigration card, and racism works well to incite the population- nonetheless, Corbyn enjoys massive public support and won’t be shaken one little bit.
Generally the British are so used to having their own way, defeat is such a difficult tablet to swallow. Someone please tell The British: it’s actually quite normal to lose. Don’t blame the Greeks now, you’ve been claiming you invented Demo-crazy! You made your own bed! Get in it and shut up! Pleeeeease!
