The health of the Kenyan economy can not be measured by how Waiguru is doing or how many prime properties our leaders acquire, but by how the common Mwanainchi is doing.
The Jubilee administration says that under their rule, they have transformed the Kenyan economy to that of middle class.
As a Kenyan, how do you feel? Do you have more money to spend today than you did five years ago? Do you eat better today than you did five years ago? To our policemen, if your welfare better today than it was five years ago?
As a business owner, do you pay less taxes today than you did five years ago? As a graduating young Kenyan, do you think you have a better chance of finding employment today than you did five years ago? As a taxi operator, do you make more today than you did five years ago?
As a Kenyan, do you think your life standards is better today than five years ago? Are basic commodities cheaper today than they were five years ago?
If your economic conditions have not changed, or actually got worse compared to five years ago, ask Jubilee why should you trust them with the management of government for the next five years?
Kenyan problems is not lack of resources, but poor priorities by those in power. It’s only in kenya where politicians will spend Shs 100,000 on wheelbarrow and not on projects that transforms life.
It’s only in kenya where a government will import metal containers, buy sex toys and TVs using taxpayers money, as those same taxpayers starve to death.
It’s only in kenya where the President uses billions for foreign trips, to borrow money, to came and use to buy new curtains for statehouse.
It’s only in kenya, where a policeman rides in a billion shillings truck, and then goes back to sleep without food in a one room shanty, where both male and female officers are forced to share, like you saw in Sagana.
When we pay taxes, we expect the government to use them to improve our situation collectively. Every five years, we judge them on their performance. Based on this criteria, Jubilee has failed.
What is your verdict? If you know they have failed- then let’s spread the word and vote change in this election.
