Police have produced Embakasi East MP Hon Babu Owino at Kibra law courts and is set to appear before Chief Magistrate Joyce Gandani over an alleged assault -causing grievous bodily harm on a voter during August 8 polls
He will also face another election-related charge that he allegedly committed during the campaign period in Embakasi East constituency.
Owino was re-arrested on Wednesday, minutes after he was released on a Sh500,000 cash bail in another cooked up case of subversion, insulting the President and incitement.
The MP is represented by more than 15 lawyers.
The file is however not before court yet
Tension is high inside and outside the court building as Owino’s supporters arrive to offer sympathy and to be in solidarity with the fiery ODM MP.
Meanwhile lawyer Atiende Amollo is said to have lost a wallet and mobile phone during Babu Owion re-arresting incident at Milimani Law courts yesterday, only police were present in an even that was captured by media.
