Controversial musician Esther Akoth popularly known as Akothee has confirmed that she is indeed pregnant.
This is after the singer who is also a mother of five teased her fans with a photo of an ultrasound scan on her Instagram page and hinted that she was 6 weeks pregnant.
Speaking during an interview with Mzazi Willy M Tuva in Radio Citizen’s Mambo Mseto show, the ‘Give it to me’ singer officially confirmed that she was expectant with her sixth child.
The singer who has also been nominated for the AFRIMMA awards added that although she has been continuing with her work despite being expectant, she felt like it was about time she relaxed.
“Pregnancy is a common thing but I appreciate that I have been doing my work well too, and right now I am feeling like the body wants me to take things slow. (Uja uzito haya ni mambo ya kawaida lakini nashukuru nimekuwa nikifanya kazi sana na naskia kama mwili unasema kwamba eh ebu twende polepole kidogo),” Akothee stated during the interview which was uploaded to YouTube on Thursday.
She, however, avoided revealing the father of her unborn child and instead jokingly cited that the baby could be a European, Chinese or Tanzanian.
