Yet again Rt Hon Raila Odinga was right, Hon Ababu Namwamba is like the proverbial fly that drunk milk and drowned on it…
Well, after playing Jubilee mole in ODM for close to 3 years, Hon Ababu Namwamba finally bolted out in 2016, his reason; construction of Siringi bridge by Jubilee regime (not a privilege at all). Well, two weeks ago President Uhuru launched the famous bridge BUT today it collapsed by itself, not because of a bursting river or weight of pedestrians, just poor workmanship just pure corruption.
Word from the big house (reliable source) is that top statehouse operatives are angry with the contractor, Hon Ababu and DP Ruto. They mainly blame DP Ruto saying: “despite his campaign prowess every other thing he touches turns out to be a scandal that embarrases the president”. Ababu is a DP Ruto project and thus anger by Mt Kenya some who previously have argued that the skinny man is only a paper tiger incapable of delivering even an MCA seat to Jubilee.
The collapse of the bridge comes at a critical moment when Jubilee is launching 2017-2022 manifesto amid criticism that they never delivered a single promise they made in 2013.
Indeed as they say, the day when a Monkey is meant to die all trees turn out to slipperly. Looks like God has annoited Raila to lead this country as a transitional president to help redeem it back to the millions of the suffering poor.
The bridge, linking Bunyala South and North, came down barely days after President Uhuru Kenyatta inspected the works.
Uhuru, during his tour of Busia county on June 14, hailed the project saying it will ease movement of people to schools and markets in the area.
Plans to construct the bridge followed a boat tragedy in September 2014 where nine people were killed as they attempted to cross River Nzoia using a canoe.
While commissioning the construction, Uhuru said he was concerned with the numerous boat tragedies.
Uhuru had on his twitter account said the bridge was fully sponsored by the national government and was to be completed by the end of this month.
“This bridge will significantly reduce deaths and make it easier for the residents to access markets, schools and hospitals.”
“It is constructed by my government at a cost of Sh1billion and will be completed by mid July,” Uhuru said in a tweet.
Uhuru had ordered the deployment of Kenya Marine Agency officers to work alongside the Busia government to ensure the safety of more than 1,000 people crossing the bridge everyday.
