PRESS RELEASE
HOMABAY AND MIGORI COUNTIES
The National Elections Board of the ODM party has reviewed the progress of the primaries so far since we began on Thursday 13th April last week. The Board is satisfied that the exercise has largely been successful save for a few hitches reported.
So far we have conducted primaries in several Counties across the country and the Board appreciates the positive response by party members who have continued to turn up in large numbers to take part in the exercise. This is a step in the right direction.
However, due to reorganization occasioned by the repeats in several areas across the country where the exercise has been held and hitches reported most of which are being held today, the Board has decided to postpone tomorrow’s planned primaries in Homabay and Migori Counties to Monday 24th April 2017 and Vihiga County pushed to Saturday 22nd April 2017.
There will be no activity tomorrow Friday 21st April 2017.
Therefore, on Saturday 22nd April, the exercise shall be held in Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, Lamu and Vihiga Counties as well as the five polling stations earlier announced in Taveta sub-county of Taita Taveta County.
On Monday 24th, the exercise shall be held in Homabay, Migori, Siaya, Kisumu and Uasin Gishu Counties, Nakuru Town West Constituency and St. Monica Polling Station in Kitengela Ward of Kajiado East.
