A British National and his Kenyan accomplice are on the spot after police busted them with fake firearm licenses. The two accused persons John Andrew laird White and Joy Akoth Mboya were however not charged after they allegedly bribed police officers to stop their prosecution.
Interesting that even after police discovered their fake firearm certificates the two have not taken plea in court. The two who are believed to be part of a syndicate which supplies foreigners with fake firearms and fire arm certificates were busted in November last year when they went to the central firearm bureau office in Nairobi area to ‘renew’ their fake licenses.
According to police records the fake firearm licenses belonging to the two suspects belonged to one Mr Gabriel Nyamaku registration number 9716 and Mr Mohamed Ari Talaal registration number 9718. Police are now being accused of frustrating the case number PCR 2465/2015 and millimani chief magistrates court file number 5/2016 which has stalled at the Milimani Law Courts after the two accused persons compromised the police officers leading to the disappearance of their case file in the Judiciary registry.
It is alleged the suspects secured there release by not taking the plea after bribing the CID with Kshs 5million. The two were supposed to be charged with an offence of being in possession of firearms without license contrary to section 4(1) of the firearms Act but have since not taken plea.
It is suspected that accused John Andrew Laird white has been using his illegal fire arm to intimidate his rivals. The head of firearm bureau has not sent the recovered firearms for ballistic analysis to ascertain whether they have previously been used to terrorise Karen residents and its environs where the two reside.
