Dear Kenyan,
Do not be naïve to think that Miguna left Canada for Nairobi not knowing the possibility of a forced return.
In one single brilliant move, Miguna walked in, disrupted government, embarrassed Kenya’s reputation abroad, set the judiciary and executive on an acrimonious fallout, killed the handshake, and basically left Kenya on the brink of precipice.
Wow! And just like that Miguna is back to the other home, Canada, leaving behind a battered country. Miguna comes, everything and everyone takes a beating. Miguna has lured Kenya into an ugly trap.
The World Bank Ease of Doing Business Index assessment includes, Rule of Law, and Political Stability. Unless you’re a fool, a crook or does not live in this country, you should know Kenya’s rating has plummeted. Miguna wins.
The primitive and chaotic operations at the East Africa’s bussiest airport, JKIA, has effectively demoralized and compromised the otherwise delicate negotiations for US direct flights. Miguna wins.
The perception that government is steeped in impunity is now officially documented by the Judiciary. Civil Society can now take a break, the war is being fought elsewhere. Miguna wins.
The opportunist and predatory politicians, hoping to extract dividends from the handshake, have been thrown in a terrible spin. Miguna opposed the handshake, he came to kill it, and has done so, effortlessly. Miguna wins.
Today, the government will be sent to prison, and it will be their turn to refuse to go. A battle front is truly open, stirring the Judiciary and the Executive, with collateral damage to the Law Society of Kenya. Miguna wins.
All these, the government with its many eyes did not see? Wow. Wacha niende hivi nakam.
