The past few days have not been cosy for one Stephen Mlanda, the Ganda member of county assembly in Malindi Constituency, Kilifi County.
His wife is now seeking divorce from their decade long marriage barely a week after he stood before some of his constituents to announce his defection to Jubilee.
Mlanda, who was elected on an ODM ticket like all other MCAS in Malindi also suffered great humiliation yesterday when hundreds of his constituents forcefully evicted him from Governor Amason Kingi’s Development tour after he refused to give his stand on Party affiliation.
The visiting ODM Deputy leader Ali Hassan Joho could only watch in disbelief as the youth dragged him out the meeting. What was shocking was some of the MCA’s family members took part in his ejection showing how unpopular his decision was.
Mlanda could not defend himself before the public who shouted msaliti, msaliti, msaliti However, most of constituents believe a closed door meeting he had with Gideon Mung’aro might have enticed him to betray ODM.
Fellow MCA’S have blasted Mlanda for his actions saying that the fact Magarini constituency suffers from acute water shortages despite having a URP MP for three years in the form of Harry Kombe is proof the promises made on boreholes are mere fallacies.
