The problem with Education ministers when they are from Kisii, they never use their political influence to change anything in the region. Prof Ongeri presided the worst cheating era in Kisii.  The Late Dr Zachary Onyonka was worse n believed nobody should be educated above what he had attained having once said "you can't sharpen a spear for yourself."

Now Matiangi refuses to help the Nyamagwa group of schools that were recently torched saying it is idiocy. If it happened in cert<span class="text_exposed_show">ain parts of Kenya, "government intervention" would have been necessary. The same Matiangi is the one who zelously shut down some campuses of Kisii University questioning the quality and legality of their degrees. Well I went to the best university in Kenya and you can tell me anything you want about quality.</span>

The mentality of the likes of Matiangi, never helps other communities to "catch up". He is not using power well. You have had Jubilee people ask, "What did Raila do when he was in power?"

Within 5 years when Kibaki came to power, MKU, Kemu, Zetech and others expanded so quickly.Banks-Equity, Family and others grew so rapidly.

You will expect Matiangi to ensure there are other educational entrepreneurs to expedite growth of higher education as a sector in Nyanza. But he is out to please his paymaster.

We can talk about secession but we must first try n help ourselves in the conventional way set forth by our founding fathers.

I dare say,Western Kenya politicians are too kind with government resources and even we seceded, their thinking will only result in poverty of the people.
