LATEST: Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto to hold talks with Uhuru, to join cabinet?

Date:

Chama Cha Mashinani leader His Excellency Governor Isaac Ruto is set to hold talks with President Uhuru over his possible role in the government of national unity and specifically his expertise in matters devolution and fiscal policy management.

Governor Ruto an economics graduate from The University of Nairobi has had a long public service career having served as Minister for Vocational and technical training in the Moi government and also served as Chepalungu member of parliament for over three terms. In 1982 governor Ruto then a student leader at the University of Nairobi, was expelled alongside his comrades David Murathe, Musalia Mudavadi, Richard Onyonka among others, the then SONU Chairman Tito Adungosi was detained and later died in Kamiti maximum prison in 1988 mysteriously just two months before his release.

Word has it that Ruto is set to replace one of the incompetent Kalenjin cabinet secretaries and will be reshuffled to head Treasury or Devolution. Others also hint that given his relationship with Prime Minister Raila Odinga, governor Ruto may be appointed to serve in the Economic Recovery Council alongside Musalia Mudavadi, Dr Mukhisa Kituyi, Eddy Njoroge and Billow Kerrow.

Kenyans on twitter are excited with the news of Isaac being airlifted from his Bomet home to Statehouse Nairobi for a tete a tete with President Uhuru:

Honoursinned™ @AlmusKE Isaac Ruto once warned the Kalenjin nation against URP-TNA merger but DP Ruto meted him with Jubilee tirades. Isaac Ruto must now be smiling….

HUSTLER NATION NONSENSE@Ruto_Is_A_Fraud: I have no apologies to make, Isaac RUTO, Governor Alex Tolgos and MP keter are among the few sane kalenjin leaders one is a Nandi, a marakwet and a kipsigis, Welcome aboard the flight to unite and restore order in kenya.
KIPLOGOM KASIT!!!

Donald B Kipkorir @DonaldBKipkorir: Isaac Ruto with humility, attended all requiem masses of Joyce Laboso in Nairobi & Bomet. Though the 1st Governor of Bomet, our Christian Political leaders didn’t allow him to even say “pole” to Laboso family. But the Leaders will quote the Bible thinking God takes bribes.
