Hon. Grace Kipchoim’s funeral was well attended although 2022 politics took the centre stage. DP Ruto’s supporters and sycophants hurled all manner of insults against Senator Moi for merely indicating that he may contest through KANU in 2022 which is his democratic right!
Murkomen said 85 MPs out of 87 who spoke supported Ruto. The semi illiterate MP for Kapseret Hon Sudi had the temerity of calling Moi ‘fake’.
Senator Gideon Moi in turn carried the day by saying he came to bury Hon Grace Kipchoim whom he the senior Moi had educated through secondary school, he wondered what sin he has committed against his accusers since elections will be determined by the electorate.
DP Ruto handlers are unknowingly building Gideon Moi and will be in for a rude shock sooner rather than later.
First let be clear that DP Ruto went to Kabarak without any appointment, not even a simple courtesy of just calling the former president’s private secretary, the DP’s chopper was unexpected and caused a security scare in the home of former president (since nobody was at the airstrip to receive him the DP trekked 3kms to the house of Mzee, the GSU officers guarding the compound were surprised to see DP Ruto who arrived with no security although he was accompanied by 4 other gentlemen including CS Keter
Secondly Mzee Moi at 94 and having just come from an operation in Israel needs a lot of rest, the doctors have prescribed routine physiotherapy and he has been advised to take bed rest, the timing of DP Ruto was bad and since DP was set to attend a funeral in Murang’a (SK Macharia’s son funeral service) he opted to leave, had he waited for 3 to 4 hours then most likely he could have met Mzee Moi.
Thirdly, despite the fact that DP Ruto had gate crashed the former president’s home, the family accorded him a warm welcome, he was served Lunch before he left. Senator Gideon Moi’s youngest sister June offered the visitors lunch and explained the routine Mzee Moi usually undergoes and DP Ruto was satisfied that indeed it was bad timing. The DP acknowledged that it was a mistake for him to just walk in, he apologized but madam June told him not worry.
And lastly, you may note that the DP has not himself opened up about the events of that day, its his sycophants led by Senator Murkomen who are making noise over nothing a clear case of wailing louder and harder than the the DP himself.
