After we were told to stop maize farming and farm avocados. Reality is hard hitting now. Those who killed the maize industry and encouraged the poor farmers to farm avocados have not taken trouble to streamline the avocado export to the biggest market, China. Vile mambo yalivyo it is a monopoly being created, just like in Milk and LPG products. Complete state capture.
Reading this makes me feel so sorry for Kenyans. Why sign a trade deal that alienates over 99% of the farmers and the result is to create a monopoly export of one FIRM. Just one firm. How do you even sat there and negotiate? Can we sufficiently say President Uhuru Kenyatta had KENYANS in mind when he was signing this deal surely? How stupid are we to just not question these numerous trade deal being signed by our President outside the Country? Probably this is the nonsense being replicated across the all the trade deal. A deal is signed with a specific cartel in mind that is already in place ready to start trading and taking charge. This is treasonous. Why can’t you as the President put down measures to cushion these poor farmers?
A government that cares will go into negotiations bearing in mind that it’s farmers are poor, unable to meet these stringent terms. Therefore a leader should be able to renegotiate a better deal for their farmers. Look at what Trump is doing for his farmers. Better still, why not come back home and facilitate farmers to meet the terms by China if indeed they can’t be renegotiated? Why not facilitate farmers like you care about them. Why come back and immediately get into a trip to Russia to sign yet again another deal disgued as bilateral trade deal Kumbe ni cartel deal between a cartel President and another country?
Even most IMPORTANTLY, which is this ONE firm that JUST happened to be able to meet all the requirements of China after a trade deal was signed between Kenya and China? Is there someone who positioned himself to create a monopoly? Did this firm got wind of the terms and readied itself for taking over the market or was the terms of the deal manipulated to make sure only one firm qualifed?
We are a sick society. And it hurts wangwana! These are the hard questions we must ask of our government. Kenyans, Let me tell you something Hamjui. We MUST start the scrutiny of these bilateral trade deals being signed by our leaders otherwise mtu ataenda huko anasign milk deal Kumbe he is signing on behalf of Brookside. Not you or me. I don’t know if you feel me?
