Chief justice David Maraga has hinted he will not proceed on early retirement.
Speaking during launch of the Judiciary’s e-filing portal on Wednesday, the CJ said he is still around because “there is so much that needs to be done”.
“I noticed when the president of LSK spoke it was like he was bidding me goodbye but I am still here,” he said.
He added, “When a judge goes on retirement, he or she gets a letter to go on leave from the chief Registrar of Judiciary and that I think will be in November.”
The statement sends a strong message to deep state operatives who recently have hyped pressure for Maraga to bow out and proceed for retirement. They sponsored banners and propaganda videos that have been shared online and the latest move is the planting of a fake baby mama with a mobilised media who alleged that the CJ had an affair with her and that he had stopped giving child support. The woman could not provide any documents to proof the affair although she had a fake a birth certificate that was immeditelly declared fake by the children’s department officials.
