A political merger/coalition should primarily expand your electoral map. You cannot walk into a merger and thereafter the new monolith retains influence in the exact same zones it did before the official merger. Kanu and NDP merger enabled New Kanu to capture the huge Luo voting block. It is the basic tenet of mergers and coalitions; Expansion!
Jubilee’s mickey mouse merger simply took small parties in existing Jubilee zones and took them to dance themselves lame! Even defectors were just recycled. Someone like Mungaro was defecting to Jubilee for the 824th time since 2013.
Kanu is a Jubilee affiliate, but its MPs were listed as defectors in a desperate move. The massive number of new conquests promised turned out to be just local music artists and nothing more.
