Kenya Broadcasting Corporation and the whole media fraternity in Kenya is terrible. The point is; Kenyans only see the part of parliamentary proceedings propagated by KBC, whose signals are picked by other TVs.
I remember Wakili Soyinka Lempaa during security laws petition hearing urging the high court to take notice that only one media house covers parliament and that is KBC. What KBC feeds the other media houses is what they relay to Kenyans.
Today half of Jubilee MPs were snoring during the address by H.E the president. Repeatedly, we heard opposition MPs calling for points of order (which means they wanted to share with the speaker something) but JB Muturi could not give them a chance.
At what point did ODM MPs start blowing their whistles? Was it not when speaker Muturi declined to listen? Under such circumstances, wasn’t it justified?
People should not forget that no one elected Muturi to parliament. No one voted for Muturi. He was rejected in Siakago.
That aside, I hear our SG has said he is differing with our party on how we conducted ourselves today. That’s the kind of democracy you find on our side. That’s the beauty of ODM. Only in ODM would the very person who holds the legal instruments of the party differ with that same party. That’s the value of the D between O and M.
And we are proud of both our SG and the other members who wanted to ask the president ‘what about Migingo? What about sugarcane?’
Timothy Bosire declined to stand up (the president had to personally urge him to) because even as he called MPs to stand in honour of the KDF soldiers killed in El Adde, the same government has declined to tell the MPs how many soldiers were killed and what went wrong. Bosire has undergone the indignity of burying six caskets without knowing who is inside. That’s how the killed KDF soldiers are being buried across the country.
The kenyan opposition will not be passive anymore. Sababu za kukasirika tunazo.
