Goodmorning Kenya!
It is sad that you will wake up to screaming headlines by the partisan media promoting the illegality by the Jubilee side of the National Assembly. You will read the absurdity of the low level leadership and dictatorial tendency of what they will call tyranny of numbers and ” democracy”. The unapologetic media will probably trivialise the walkout by the CORD MP’S and criticise their actions using the so called columnists carefully chosen to present Uhuruto views and perpetuate disintegration of constitutionalism. Why are we faced with these unprecedented situation? What is the masked matter in dispute?
In my simple understanding the issue at hand is whether Kenya can hold a credible election. It is whether the will of the people can be exercised through the ballot. Simply interpreted to mean that the Jubilee Govt isn’t willing to loose power through the ballot. On the other hand it is now crystal clear that indeed Jubilee didn’t and will not win in a free and fair contest. It confirms to the world that indeed they stole the 2013 election.
My little class three son Nabii Junior asked me this question: Are these people (read Duale and team) saying we shouldn’t trust a plane to reach the destination because the digital engine can fail? Daddy why does the President use the plane?
What my son is saying is that the ultimate decision is human level of comfort. He is saying the President is unreasonable and his team are clearly taking Kenyas for a ride. If you can risk and trust the Presidents life in a plane which is digitally more complicated then you can afford to do an election using BVR without worrying about the likelihood of technology failure. In any case you can run parallel systems of technology. There is no cost equivalent to democracy.
My take people is that we must as citizens read Uhurutos behaviour in the context of Museveni’s approach to electoral democracy. We need to reflect and conclusively unite in the spirit of those who fought for Multiparty democracy and 2nd liberation. We are indeed faced with the reincarnation of the one party state. We must understand that Uhuru and Ruto are not the digital generation in democratic space but analogue followers of Nyayo and true believers of despotic leadership. The acceptance speech of the outgoing President of Ghana woke them up from slumber. That money and blatant electoral theft is not possible with real time technology.
Trumps win is more telling and his unkind words to the Personality of Uhuru a wake up call. Hence the sons of Homeguards would rather rewrite History like their fathers by betraying the public good. I besiege you true sons of the soil to remind ourselves of the reason for why we fought for the new constitution. The reasons are strongly valid today as they were yesteryears. We are at the Junction of Emmaus. People let us wake up strong willed to defend our democracy. Let us wake up energised to take up a just war to the doors of Uhuruto. I am willing to pay the price of a credible election even if it means by my life.
