Word in the streets of Keroka (the commercial capital of Kisii North) is that top aides of Jubilee politicians Hon Ongeri and Hon Nyambati offered cash to youths in the town to heckle and embarrass CORD Leader Raila Odinga today.
Well, the youths reportedly used the money to hire all the boda boda motorbikes and taxis to join the Raila convoy turning it to a road show that started from Nyansiongo shopping centre where he landed with a chopper all the way to Manga stadium.
Raila received a super heros welcome with thousands of residents lining the streets to listen to the former premier and ODM party leader. The former premier was in Kisii/Nyamira for the homecoming of Kitutu Masaba MP Hon Timothy Bosire after he was arrested and detained by Jubilee over fake hate speech charges.
The Jubilee operatives were shocked when to learn that the youths were leading the Raila convoy from the from and chanting and singing pro-Raila and CORD songs. Raila was joined by Kisii governor James Ongwae, Nyamira Governor John Gharama, Senator James Orengo, Senator Muthama, Senator Ongera, Hon Mishi Mboko, Hon Mutua, Hon Ben Momanyi, Hon Junet Mohammed among other local leaders
“I come from Kisii Town in Kisii County, but the Gusii town and Gusii County whose political soul I have always greatly admired ever since the early 90s are Keroka town and Nyamira County respectively. Here is one of the reasons. A local MP, one Walter Nyambati, and a local politician, one Professor Sam Ongeri distributed sack loads of cash to hundreds of youth to go heckle Raila Odinga in Keroka and Nyamira, but instead of doing so, the youth used part of the cash to hire and fuel motorcycles and pick up trucks to ferry people to the two venues to accord the CORD supremo and his team an ecstatic reception.”– Onyinkwa Nyakundi posted on Facebook
