Just sample three events that have happened within a month in three key institutions, don’t tell me they are MERE COINCIDENCES;
1. Supreme Court Judge Njoki NDUNG’U (SCJ) arrogantly contradicted the Chief Justice David MARAGA’s (and of course the majority’s decision) via her now (in-)famous dissent;
2. IEBC Vice Chairperson Consolata Nkatha Bucha MAINA bravely disagreed with the position of the Chairperson Wafula CHEBUKATI on the issue of the IEBC memos;
3. Law Society of Kenya (LSK)’s Deputy President Faith WAIGWA has today sharply contradicted the society’s President Isaac OKERO’s position on the intended investigation of SCORK’s registrar.
You don’t have to look any further to realise that the country is headed to the dogs.
Politicians seem to have infiltrated Kenya’s premier bar association, the Law Society of Kenya (LSK). The Vice-president has, in the style of some IEBC commissioners against their chair, purportedly written a letter to the EACC Chairperson in which she has sharply contradicted the position of the society’s president in an earlier letter.
Our nation’s problems seem to be wider than just the elections. We are in trouble; a country headed south?
It is foolhardy to wish away the similarities as mere coincidences in the above three institutions.
What am I saying? This country is sharply divided and the pattern seems very clear. We may already be a doomed society!
