Recently talking to friend in my backyard of Ibacho Kisii County, he told me uhuru has done a lot and cited jobs, electricity to every household and that the 2KG unga now was going for Sh 90.
I asked him which company was he working for? He told me, he has been searching for a job since 2013.
My phone was running low, I gave him to charge it at his homestead.
“We don’t have power at home…” he said.
Since he looked hungry, I gave Sh 100 to buy the 2Kg unga in the nearby supermarket.
He returned the money and said,
“There is no unga at the supermarket, or even the nearby wholesale shop,” he said, disappointed.
“In fact, there is no bigger shop because all the businesses had closed down due to the high cost of buying goods and poor road network in the village,” he added.
Even some businessmen died of depression due to bank loans and lack of business to service the loans. Those who come from our village in Ibacho know what I’m talking about.
This is the reason Jubilee will get less than 10 per cent from Kisii and Nyamira county. They are tired of being taken in circles.
