Governor Hassan Joho is unable to file his tax returns after KRA blocked his PIN number. This is an obvious set up by Statehouse operatives so that KRA can move to court and charge the good governor for not filing tax returns on time. A cheap plot that will also backfire.
Speaking on phone from Saudi Arabia, the Mombasa Governor read malice into the saga saying those behind the move want him to fail to comply to the law that requires returns are filed by end of this month.
“I have been attempting to access the system online to file my returns but it’s frustrating. The PIN has been suspended by KRA,” Joho said. Joho’s two brothers are also experiencing a similar issue.
Since this matter is now in public dormain, it is expected that KRA commission should direct his customer service team to sort out the mess otherwise they risk court action that may cost tax payers money.
As indicated on the screen shot above it impossible for him to file tax returns as required by law.
Governor Joho is pointing fingers to Statehouse operatives who are keen at fixing him using any mean necessary. His spokesman Richard Chacha confirmed the Governor’s fears in a brief press released;
“We know this is a continuation of Jubilee government’s attempts to muzzle the Govenor over his political stand and for being bold and vocal on issues affecting his people.
No amount of intimidation and arm twisting will change his course in politics.
Let the jubilee government know that time will come when they will answer the people for the desperate moves to suppress those with dissenting opinions.
The government has fought him and his family from all angles. If that is the price he has to pay for defending the Kenyan publice and speaking the truth, so be it.” Statement read in part
