Anwar Saddat
We can not live in a country where an aide to a president determines who to be suspended or expelled from a university.
An aide or blogger has no authority to expel any student from a Kenyan University. Earlier yesterday, the said aide generated a list of students Uhuru wanted expelled and suspended from UoN.
The VC of UoN subsequently followed Statehouse directives to expel the said students. Such actions can not be allowed to stand in a society where the university is supposed to set its own agenda and operate autonomously.
When we have people like an aide to the president as the custodians of our educational standards, and allow them the latitude to determine the set points upon which our educational probity fluctuates, then the energy expended to climb to the apex of academic stratosphere is wasted. Such characters must not be allowed to be the authors of orders on which our education system gyrate upon.
The students of UoN must be supported in their quest to return UoN to its rightful place by demanding that the current VC vacate office.
