Chilren turned out in large numbers at a jubilee rally to participate in a local soccer match as adults boycotted and instead attended a CORD rally.
When it comes to political rallies, it is a common thing to see groups and bigger crowds of people in attendance all eager to listen to policies and the dramas that come in handy. This however wasn’t the case when Jubilee organized a political rally in Malindi on the same day with their CORD counterparts.
While thousands of people yet again flooded the Kwa Vumbi grounds for the CORD public rally, JAP was shocked to have a meeting filled with journalists. Moreover, they faced the wrath of a group of youths who had come to play soccer instead. Jubilee leaders were forced to address empty seats as a small crowd gathered to watch a local soccer match.
With alleged splashing of cash to the constituents, Philip Charo and company expected to have a much bigger crowd, only to fall for disappointments. They even went ahead to hire artists like Susumila and Ali B, well known to attract large masses of people whenever they appear on stage. However, the people opted to go to an ODM meeting held at Kwa Vumbi grounds instead.
Our sources reveal that in a desperate move to gain followers, JAP has opted to use opposition leaders’ names to lure followers to attend their rally. This time, Jubilee resorted to use Mombasa Women representstive’s name Hon. Mishi Mboko who was supposedly in Likoni attending a burial for one of the fallen KDF matyrs.
“They invaded our field and disrupted our soccer match. My parents and other family members went to attend an ODM meeting at Kwa Vumbi, we had no idea about this meeting.. ” said Manaseh Kitsao, a local footballer. “They brought Susumila and Ali B to perfom and asked us to call our friends at a fee of Ksh. 1500 but no one would come as they’re attending the Khalwale meeting at Kwa Vumbi” he added.
