The conman behind the M-pesa scheme targeting MPs has been revealed as 25 year old Wazir Benson Masubo Chacha.
Chacha, according to reports is a former Ministry of Devolution employee and is believed to be a friend to a former MP allegedly from Migori.
The Nairobian Weekly Paper had carried a story on the suspect where he claimed he had been used and dumped by 54 year old former Bomet County Women Rep Dr. Cecilia Ng’etich.
His accomplices who are University students were nabbed by police when they had gone to solicit for money from ex Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo.
Derick Ng’etich and Edwin Warukira were accused of fraudulently obtaining money from Midiwo and Ms Chege on March 8 at a Restaurant in Nairobi. They are accused of obtaining Sh100, 000 from the two legislators.
Chacha has since gone into hiding after word spread that police are on his trail.
