What a Woman!
What strength of character!
What fortitude and bravery!
What clarity of thought, of message and of conviction!
And what articulation of all the above!
If Chris Msando’s killers thought they would cower his widow Eve into silence, they thought wrong.
If they thought they would reduce her strength and faith into a convulsion of ululation and tears; of uncontrollable emotional sobbing, they were sadly mistaken.
Instead, the cowards who took away a husband, a father, a son, a brother, an uncle and a friend to many unleashed the power of MinNyithindo; of a Mama Watoto resolute in her unyielding love and dedication to him, to their children and to his memory.
“May you not have peace” she pointedly told her husband’s killers – in a voice as articulate in its clarity and delivery of message as it was resolute in challenging those who could not countenance the idea of her man’s dedication to an ungrateful nation.
Chris, WuodUgenya, wherever you are; whatever you are doing – you can rest in peace. You left behind a woman who can and will more than carry on your legacy of love, excellence and competence – as a father and husband; as a public servant.
Eve Msando clearly and without mincing her words told her husband’s killers that his painful and gruesome death would not be in vain.
In memorializing her husband, the woman behind the man behind IEBC’s information technology fully embodied the saying that “behind every successful man is an amazing woman”.
Eve, though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you fully demonstrated no fear of those who would harm you. He is with You – something your husband’s killers will never understand no matter how often they speechify and pontificate about God and religion.
Fair thee well WuodUgenya.
Nind gi kwe WuodLuo – Rest in Peace – because Yesu e Ruoth – He is Lord over all – including those who cut your life short.
