Hello Robert,
Please help me out to get my money from the deputy Gov of Mombasa County. My name Nelson Mandela, I a fashion designer based in Nairobi. I run a fashion house known as LOGICAL CLOTHING.
I tailored the DG Dr. William Kingi 2 outfits last year October, one was a Merino wool grade 150 that I used on the Chinese colar suit and the other was Merino grade 100 that I used to tailor him one African themed short sleeved shirt. I met the DG through his PA one Basil MUGA was introduced to me by my former Highschool friend MIGOYA CHRISTOPHER.
Upon meeting the DG, the girlfriend took charge of our discussion and it was her that the DG told me to deal with. 7 months down the line, after delivering the outfits The lady (CATHERINE WANGARI) known on Facebook as Natasha Cathyrn only sent me Ksh. 6000 instead of 32500 making the balance to be 26500/=. I have been taken into circles by the DG, HIS GIRLFRIEND (Natasha) and the PA from 25th of September last year up to now.
At some point the PA told me that the DG gave the girlfriend money to send me and seems she used it which seemed to be true because the lady promised to send me the cash in a weeks time which later changed to one month and when I pushed for the money the DG changed the story that he was no satisfied despite the fact that I had done the corrections he wanted and said OK ANS he had even DRESSED on the outfits in a public event more than once.
7 months down the line, The Deputy Governmor Mombasa County has not paid me and still has my products, does not pick my calls neither does the girlfriend. The PA keeps on telling me that they waiting for the budgetary allocation to the office of the DG for them to pay me. Kindly help.
Below are the attached proofs of the incident.

Social media allegations by Robert Alai
My attention has been drawn to a social media post by Robert Alai alleging that I have declined to pay a young fashion designer by the name Nelson Mandela from Nairobi. Much as I may not wish to engage the messenger @Robert Alai, a prominent blogger, he should have had the sense to seek the other side of the story. Anyway …
Having worked with the youth as a University Lecturer, patron and mentor, I wish to state that I agreed to be fitted by Mr. Mandela solely to promote his upcoming business as a local designer.
Upon fitting, I found that there was a tailoring challenge on the blazer which was discussed with the designer and sent back for adjustments. All along my hope has been that Mr. Mandela can perfect his art to meet customer expectations. As a leader, I am always looking to push our local producers to produce high quality products that can meet local needs as well as compete in the international markets so we don’t have to go to Italy etc to buy clothes. I still believe despite this ill advised strategy by Mr. Mandela to get us to pay without our discussed alterations, he can take my work as an opportunity to improve on his skill. I still believe he has it in him to produce world class items. The onus to produce quality work cannot be substituted by cries of being underprivileged. It is important that our local producers understand that there is no shortcut to success and that clients are looking for value for their money. The higher the price, the higher the client’s expectations in terms of quality. To Mr. Mandela, I still want to work with you because I see your talent. You can polish up and grow into a brand to reckon with internationally. I encourage others reading this to give you and other local designers an opportunity.
I would like to encourage young people looking to grow their businesses to shun sensationalist approaches to resolve purely business disagreements with clients. Resorting to blackmail or public shaming for political purposes will not advance business performance.
As much as possible I buy local products in the National spirit of Buy Kenya, build Kenya. I’ve bought Clothes from designers like Mandela, furniture from Old town Mombasa, tea from Nyeri, cashewnuts from Kilifi etc (They’re all excellent by the way! Give them a try). Wishing you all a happy Sunday! May all your tailor orders come on time and as per your design !
