At an event in Riruta Satellite on Monday evening this week, a mad thing happened that has left Jubilee supporters base in Nairobi and across Kenya shocked
In a bizarre admonition of the President, Dagorette South MP Hon Dennis Waweru told president Uhuru to go back to Gatundu and leave Nairobi to its owners. Hon Waweru foolishly told the president that if there is any seat he (Uhuru) can give, it is the Gatundu constituency and not any other anywhere else in the country and definitely NOT Nairobi governor seat.
Hon Waweru went to declare Nairobi governor seat belonged to “Nyomba or Kikuyu community” and therefore Uhuru will be a traitor by pushing for an outsider (read CS Eugene Wamalwa) to get the seat.
After undressing Uhuru, Hon Waweru then proceeded to invite Nairobi senator Mike Sonko who equally did not disappoint, he also reiterated the message dismissing some Statehouse operatives on their stand on the Nairobi governor race.
Hon Sonko dismissed Water CS Eugene Wamalwa referring him to “Waziri wa Matope” to which Dennis Waweru gleefully nodded . It is absolutely confounding why Hon Sonko would refer to a ministry in a jubilee government he serves as Matope. Sonko’s statement is the kind one would make carelessly in a bar while drunk or among friends in jest but definitely not in front of cameras.
It is understood the two were reacting in defiance to an order the President gave about two weeks ago in which he read the riot act to all Nairobi politicians opposed to his plan for the Jubilee Party. At the meeting Maina Kamanda was tasked to bring the whole Nairobi jubilee leadership together and offer it direction towards the President’s wish.
Hon Kamanda took up the president’s assignment of mobilising Nairobi electorate, he also pledged to work with all politicians including current and former Nairobi MPs, Opinion leaders, MCAs among others in Jubilee to win all the Nairobi seats.
Last week CS Eugene Wamalwa attended convened by Hon Kamanda and attended by all Nairobi MPs and MCAs except Waweru and Sonko in which matters Jubilee party were discussed. The Water CS is tagged to be the party leader in the city.
It is very possible that both Mike Sonko and Dennis Waweru who have clearly chosen to take the president head on will have to pay for their sins most probably meet anger of the voters at the ballot.
The Water CS entry into Nairobi politics has sent panic among other top Jubilee aspirants, Eugene comes on board with solid support of Nairobi strongman former cabinet minister and Nairobi city commissioner Hon Fred Gumo.
