The NASA select committee working on the coalition flag bearer must be well aware that Kenyans want real change from corrupt Jubilee administration. The committee must be aware that the NASA vote base can be classified as :
1) Transferable votes
2) Non-Transferable votes
NASA coalition has four Principals who have Constitutional qualifications to become President of the republic of Kenya . However , we have some who have an edge over others in terms of numbers they can deliver. All can deliver the presidency if well supported by the the coalition partners ! The candidate who stands a better chance to clinch the presidency easily is the candidate who can have the potential to bag both transferable and non- transferable votes ! In NASA coalition vote base , Luhyia , Kamba , Luo and coastal votes can be classified as transferable votes . This vote base can be transferred from one candidate to the other provided all the four candidates agree to support each other genuinely in the election . As you are well aware , the category of transferable votes can’t successfully deliver us from Jubilee poor governance without the assistance of non- transferable votes .
What is Non-Transferable votes ? These are votes which belong to the the four individuals on the basis of their contributions and past political career . This votes are not transferable from one candidate to the other . They are almost seen as personal property. Hence referred to as non- transferable votes . The votes can’t be moved from one candidate to the other in a Kenyan voting coalition arrangement. They belong to that presidential candidate alone . This is due to the special attachment and confidence such voters have on the candidate . Some of the votes in the NASA coalition that can be classified as non-transferable votes include ; Kisii , Maasai , Samburu , Meru , Tharaka , Kuria votes among others. These voters from these communities may not vote any of the four candidates picked . This category want their candidate on the ballot . If the non transferable candidate don’t get their candidate on the ballot , their are two things that will happen :
1) Votes of their preferred coalition flag bearer will be split and further reduced to the advantage of Jubilee.
2) Will lead to voter apathy among non transferable voters
The select committee must not pick the presidential flag bearer on the basis of IMAGINED performance on voters outside the TWO categories of transferable and non-transferable votes . This will be disastrous because NASA will lose both IMAGINED votes and non-transferable votes. …….Eti fulani akichaguliwa anawezapata kura huku na huku (IMAGINED)
In choosing the NASA presidential flag bearer , the communities that form non-transferable block of voters MUST be consulted on who they best want as their Presidential candidate ! Failure to which we will experience proliferation of votes . This is what Jubilee want to scavenge on !! The non transferable votes hold key in NASA coalition state house bid
