PRESS RELEASE
Our attention is drawn to the letter circulating on social media purportedly written by the ODM National Chairman Mr. John Mbadi and addressed to the Minority Whip in the National Assembly Mr. Thomas Mwadeghu dated 26th January 2016.
In the letter, Mr. Mbadi is said to be instructing Mr. Mwadeghu to advise the CORD legislators to go slow on the issue of the NYS for fear that some members of the coalition could be implicated in the mega scam. Of particular interest is the blatant mentioning of Suna East MP Mr. Junet Mohammed’s name whom Jubilee noisemakers on Social Media have been questioning his silence on the matter for the past week. Anyone can smell a rat on this.
The ODM wishes to state as follows; Mr. Mbadi has and is still very vocal on the issue of the theft in the NYS where hundreds of millions of shillings have been stolen under the watch of the Jubilee administration. It is a fact that on the 19th of February 2016 at the funeral of the Kisumu Chairman of the ODM Mr. Dave Okwach, Mr. Mbadi rallied the mourners in calling for the arrest and prosecution of former Devolution CS Ms. Anne Waiguru in connection to the scam.
It is worth noting that the purported letter bears a scanned signature of Mr. Mbadi.
Mr. Mbadi cannot write an official letter to anyone or any organ of the party or state and sign it off with a scanned signature. That is not the ODM style.
Again, the letter is addressed to the ‘CORD Chief Whip’ a position that does not exist in law and the parliamentary Standing Orders. Only an ignorant person can use a non existent title.
Therefore, the letter is a fraud which is Jubilee’s second name, a forgery and an attempt to divert the attention of the public from the theft of millions of shillings meant for the youth on the National Youth Service.
It is only last week that the Gatundu South MP gave Ms. Waiguru an ultimatum to implicate CORD legislators in the scandal after she mentioned prominent Jubilee leaders and operatives in her sworn affidavit.
This clearly shows Jubilee’s desperation and shallow attempts to try and drag the names of ODM/CORD leaders in their mud. Everyone knows Jubilee thrives on stealing and forgery and this is manifested in the stealing of Hon. Mbadi’s signature which luckily could not be signed off on the letter in its original form.
It is a shame that Jubilee administration has failed to address the runaway corruption that has bedevilled their regime and want to paint mud on other people. They tried it last year when they forged a letter with Sen. Prof. Anyang Nyong’o’s signature and failed.
The ODM urges the public to ignore the letter and treat it as the usual political theatrics and ideological emptiness by Jubilee leadership and their operatives. Such propaganda won’t succeed.
