It’s time Raila abandoned Cord, dismantled it, shred it apart, leave it a shell and focus his resources into building his pet ODM. Ford K and Wiper are just using him for a spine to lean on as they negotiate with Jubilee.
Wiper and Ford K benefit more from that relationship with Raila and ODM being the net losers. I felt this way from post Mar 2013 election, and I regret not letting Jakom know this.
Sun Tzu in his magnum opus treatise The Art of War teaches us the stratagem that to gather momentum, you have to – like a river, go back to the source of the river, and from a higher ground start a new journey and come down with greater momentum.
Naturally smaller rivers will join the bigger river along the way. To clean a gun, you’ve gotta break it apart.
I have seen some people from Jubilee gleeing at the possible and almost inevitable break up of CORD. They are very smirk about it with the “we told you so” smile.
What they forget is that ODM is an idea. A constant. Everything else is a variable.
Kalonzo left in 2007, indirectly precipitating the violence, we stayed put. He was betrayed, of course,he came back alitupata tu pale. I don’t even know where we picked Wetangula from. I don’t like him, never liked him and never will.
In life, we don’t always get we what we want. And you will expect adults like Wetangula to know better and spare us tantrums. At a times when Jubilee is united, CORD must remain stronger. 2017 should not be the end game. The idea is to strengthen the party continuously. One day rigging will be impossible.
Zambia got it right in the early 1990s when they toppled Kaunda. A divided opposition is always a gift to the incumbent in Africa.
ODM and CORD did not lose the 2007 and 2013 elections because they were weak. We know what happened. In 2017, may be Jubilee will win genuinely since CORD has never been this weaker.
I suspect Wetangula is about to pull the classic Luhyia move. Some of these politicians are greedy and cheap. A few hundred millions can make them sell their communities. The Luhyia remain a liabiility in our politics. I have no problem with that. But I really wish the Luhyia can stick to one party and vote as a block to avoid this business of narrow wins.
For the Jubilee types celebtating, don’t speak too soon. I will not be surprised if Ruto ends up with Raila and Kalonzo and Wetangula with Uhuru now that ICC is out of the picture.
What we should all do is admit that Jubilee is taking the country down the drain. 5 or 10 more years we will be in a terrible place. Hate Raila all you can
But hate our government more.
Don’t vote for Raila. But voting for Jubilee again will show how much you hate Kenya.
