Former Prime minister Raila Odinga aka Tinga/Njamba has arrived in Nyeri for the burial of Gov Ndiritu Gacagua to a thunderous welcome. Both the young and the old are ok with him until president Kenyatta will arrive to remind them that “raira ni muguruki”. They don’t hate Jakom, there are petty haters who are always pushing them to do so for political reasons.

Raila jetted back home from Nigeria last evening and many were suprised to see him in Nyeri as they assumed he was abroad. The former premier was accompanied by Suna (Migori) MP Hon Junet Mohammed.
Many remember how Nyeri residents showered Raila with praise and demonstrated mad love for him in 2002 and 2003 when he declared Kibaki tosha and later used his own funds to fly Kibaki to London for specilised treatment following a nasty road accident in Machakos while on the campaign trail. Raila later campaigned for Kibaki accross Kenya and defeated then President Moi and his Project Uhuru with amargin of more than 2 million votes.

Mt Kenya Mafia could later take over Kibaki presidency and reneged on all pre-election agreements between Kibaki’s DP/NAC and Raila/Saitoti/Kalonzo and Moody Awori’s LDP leading to acrimonous break-up that saw Central Kenya politicians poison minds of locals turning it to a tribal hatred.
