NASA statement on ongoing fight for Electoral Justice
We welcome the decision of the High Court this morning lifting CS Fred Matiangi’s illegal and unconstitutional move purporting to ban exercise by the People of their Constitutional right Under Article 37 to picket, demonstrate and assemble peaceably and further restraining the police from arresting NASA CEO Norman Magaya.
Once again the Judiciary has struck a blow for Constitutionality and the rule of Law in this country reminding those in power today and their minions like Matiangi that the Kenyan People are a free people with rights that cannot be taken away at their whims.
We take this opportunity to condemn in the strongest terms the ongoing extrajudicial executions, brutalization and torture of innocent Kenyans by the Police cheered on by the top leadership of the murderous regime that is the Jubilee Government.
We have seen none other than the President himself condole families of victims of a collapsed building from his ethnic community while at the same time turning a blind eye and in fact celebrating the ethnic cleansing of Luo’s at the hands of his Militia.
We have seen attempts on the Lives of Members of Parliament including, among others, Hon. Gladys Wanga and Janet Ongera, whose vehicles were tracked by police to an up market residential area and fired upon using live rounds and teargas canisters on Monday.
All these point to an increasingly insecure regime rapidly falling for the seductions of establishing an all out dictatorship in Kenya having realized it cannot win a free fair and credible electoral contest.
We reiterate that no murders, arrests or brutalization of the Kenyan People shall intimidate or dissuade us from pursuing our noble cause of ending Electoral impunity and theft once and for all.
We urge our supporters countrywide to turn out in large numbers across the country for peaceful demonstrations in honor of all Shujaas who have paid the ultimate price at the hands of Uhuru’s Police Militia.
We reiterate the call to the Police to ensure that the Protesters, the Public and property are protected from criminal elements who have formed a habit of taking advantage of such demo to cause chaos and loss, as by law requiredNASA statement on ongoing fight for Electoral Justice
