In Kenya, a run off means 2 tribes against 42 going by the formation of the two main political coalitions NASA and Jubilee.
Remember no sitting President anywhere in the world has won election in a run off.
During a run off, people change minds and vote for the person they did not vote for during round one. For instance, in Kisii and Western regions, those voters who vote for Uhuru in round one, might note vote for him in round two because of many factors like oneness, “we against them”.
During run offs, manifestos don’t count. Those few who went prodigal are easily plucked back.
It is only during run offs where communities vote as a pure bloc because they are convinced that is their golden chance of taking leadership. That time, Western, Nyanza, Coast, Eastern, North Eastern and parts of Rift Valley like the Maasai Land will unitee behind Raila. In this case, central and Parts of Rift Valley will unite behind Uhuru.
During a run off, people vote en mass due to a number of reasons e.g. voting is quick because there is only one ballot paper and it is easy to guard the votes.
Now you know why Uhuru should be worried….
