Rita O:>> #BeyondZero another feel good aspiring middle class activity (see me do good with important people) and political conscience cleaning (corruption is okay because we need to be seen support such) to a problem faced by 70 % of reproductive population (who do not even participate because they are too poor)
Counsel DM Wanyama: The First Lady is just doing what some of us, including the thieves, will want to give excuses for not doing, that she’s doing a zero sum job.
Robert Alai:> #BeyondZero 2016 First Lady marathon has raised over Ksh 190million. We need to know how the money is spent. The First Lady need to publish the audited accounts in the newspapers and online for perusal.
T Muturi:>>From a policy point of view, this Beyond Zero Marathon is a rip off. This government has embraced activism as public relations engagement with the taxpayers. When the First Lady using taxpayers money to engage in activism, however noble the cause it’s we SHALL STILL FAIL. She’s in government and what we expect is pushing for more budgetary allocations to the health sector and more precisely in her pet project to which I fully acknowledge and support.
Hon Jim B:>>Do we still have fools here who think that #BeyondZero campaign run by Uhuru’s wife is a genuine course?
Roeny Owino-Hist:>>I CAN’T COMPREHEND WHY MARGRET KENYATTA WOULD SOLICIT FUNDS FROM TAX PAYERS. WHEN SHE HAS ALWAYS SEEN IT NOT NECESSARY TO REMIND HER HUSBAND OF GOOD GOVERNANCE, PROBITY AND PRUDENT CONTROL OF THE NATIONAL TREASURY.

J’Kimba S:>>This year;
I registered for the 1st Lady’s Beyond Zero Marathon and if I were in Nairobi today, I’d have done the 21kms race. Growing up as a boy who lost his mother due to pregnancy related issues, I’ve always used this forum to publicly offer moral support to this initiative. The good side of it is – that (more) lives will be saved.
Yet, we cannot shy away from its ugly side – that it is a direct manifestation and exposure of policy and leadership failures by the Jubilee administration which has failed to make available quality, affordable and accessible health care to ordinary Kenyans in their villages and townships. It is a noble campaign that stings and indicts the current administration by filling in a void of bad governance.
Health-care provision and attendant policy directions are not the domain of the office of the First Lady – these are serious national issues that are squarely the province of tax payers grannery over-sighted by the National Government – led by Uhuru Kenyatta and cannot be left to merciful interventions of charity causes by generous but already over-burdened Kenyans.
George Nyongesa:>> I refer to my earlier post, my support for FLHM remains withdrawn. My reason: First lady has better, sustainable and more effective avenue to address the problem of maternal health. She is part of govt and governments world over don’t do charity. She can use her position to champion for RADICAL health care reforms and all mothers across the country will be safe, just by her husband putting a signature on paper. What she is doing is slow, unsustainable and inefdective, i wonder when that mobile clinic will ever reach Busia county. Govt has a lot of money raised thru taxes being stolen (corruption) , that money should be used for maternal care. Thru this marathon, FL will raise 2% of the money Anne Waiguru and Co stole thru NYS scandal. Why can’t Margaret’s husband just recover money stolen thru NYS scam and save us this publicity stunts called marathon. We dont need to giving more money for things we have already paid thru tax, especially if the husband is presiding over theft of our money. We don’t know even if money raise by FL is used well. That is double taxation. That is double theft. I am not politicizing anything. Just think about it. If Uhuru stopped presiding over theft of our public money we wont need marathon people, would be headed to church to thank God for what he has done and what he is going to do. You dont create a problem and then send your wife to pretend she is helping. Then she runs with those stealing our money. Anne Waiguru last year. William Ruto ditto. What FL Is doing was good as a short term exercise to raise and mobilise national support for health care reform but now she is turned her into government NGO. Let her rethink how we can help mothers, fathers, everyone by radical health care reforms.
