CHAOS and CLASHES reported in Eldoret near Naivas Supermarket pitting rival hawkers and street vendors of different ethnicities. Looting and vandalism, destruction of property reported. Fighting has subsided though tension remains.
The fight is mainly between shop owners and street vendors and therefore cuts across tribes however politicians may spin it to suit their end objectives. County government should move with speed to sort the issue before it takes a tribal dimension.
