The picture trending on social media featuring Malowa’s grave is true. I know, i was there. You will notice all these pictures were taken before the burial, nobody in them – that is the motive of the photographer?
However, nobody is talking about the fact that this is his grandmother’s place. In fact he was buried right beside her, being her ‘husband’ and all.
What is also not being said is that since Malowa was not married, this is in line with tradition. Nobody is showing the decent house he had in this mother’s compound that may not capture the dreams he may have had of a palatial home, and that he may just have been biding his time…
Nobody is posting pictures of his mother’s modern house, and certainly noone is posting the huge crowd of villagers, colleagues and friends who turned up to send him off, nor the spectacle of dozens of cars, nor the bevy of 3 helicopters police back up that were standing to attention in honour of the departed Brother.
Certainly the bland pictures cannot capture the overwhelming tributes he was paid, a true hero in the eyes of his people.
Instead we choose to hate and bear false witness even before the brother even goes into the ground?
