President Uhuru, ata kama watu ni voting robots please treat them with some measure of respect. Corruption is the single issue that has made you lose favour with many of your supporters.
But the Appointment of people with questionable records still goes on.
The National Bank Chairman, Mohamed Hassan had a major court case against him before he was appointed. He was accused of defrauding an investor of sh 400 million during his tenure at an investment firm/ The Courts ruled last week that he and others were guilty. Then, a new court case accusing him of a sh 100 m fraud in Bluebird Aviation surfaced last week.
In spite of such a record- he still remained Chairman of National Bank- and several cases of fraud were reported by the Sunday Nation. NBK then got restraining orders gagging the Press from covering its activities. Now, it is being reported that NBK is in trouble and the CEO and top managers have been sent home.
Catherene Namuye, was declared unfit to hold public office by the EACC- but she was forcefully appointed to head the Youth Fund. Few months later a major scandal erupted.
Adan Harakhe was declared unfit to hold any public office by the Ministerial Human Resource Management Advisory Committee (MHRMAC). Yet he was appointed the to run Money affairs at NYS. Few months later- a mega scandal erupted at NYS.

Just a few days ago, Lawyer Katwa Kigen was appointed to head the multi billion Unclaimed Assets Authority. I have nothing personal against Kigen, but he was appointed at a time that an active inquiry against Governor Kidero in a sh 200 million bribery saga. Kigen is mentioned as one of the facilitators of the saga. Though he has not been found guilty- doesn’t it look bad that he is put in charge of sh 6 million bob.
Mr President, such actions like appointing people like Katwa Kigen, Mohamed Hassan, Catherine Namuye, Adan Harakhe actually negate all the big words you speak against corruption.
We know in Kenya, voters do not care about corruption. In fact, if you steal- you become a super hero, and get elected. But Mr President, many of us had placed hope in you to show us that Corruption does not pay.
