“Uhuru is the one that should apologise on my behalf, not Ruto,” Oscar Sudi fires back at critics

Date:

Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi has responded to his critics demanding him to apologise to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his mother Mama Ngina over insults hurled at the first family.

Sudi in a live press conference at his rural home in Eldoret argued that Deputy President William Ruto is not the one to apologise on his behalf.

Referring to the critics as conmen and thieves, Sudi said that President Kenyatta being the Jubilee party leader, he is the one that should be apologising on behalf of Jubilee party members.

He however maintained that he will not apologise unless ODM leader Raila Odinga calls for a press conference and apologise on behalf of his allies who used to abuse President Kenyatta during the 2017 presidential campaigns.

Emurua Dikirir MP Johanna Ng’eno and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi were recorded uttering unsavoury remarks against President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ng’eno was later arrested on Monday evening by police officers over claims of incitement.

He is accused of inciting constituents and making statements against the President and his family during a visit to Kiminnet in Transmara on Sunday.

Deputy President William Ruto later on Monday night distanced himself from the utterances made by the two leaders saying that “no amount of anger justifies the use of offensive insulting language” to the president.

He urged leaders should exercise restraint and avoid insults and bad language against other Kenyans.
