The whole point of the ICC was to get justice for post-election violence victims.
Uhuru is among those whom a judicial body: Commission of Inquiry into the Post-Electivion Violence (CIPEV), then chaired by Justice Philip Waki, FINGURED for financing the violence.
The ICC would later indict him. For rape. For mass murder. For forcible displacement of communities. For torture. For crimes so banal they are simple termed “crimes against humanity”.
His case collapsed largely because dead men tell no tales. Tens of brave Kenyans died, and or, disappeared as ICC witnesses. They had offered to testify against him. To give testimony of his role. Many would recant their testimonies, to remain alive.
This chapter in our history is dark. Survivors have fresh scars. Some homes are still haunted. Of children burnt and women burnt in a church of God. Of women and young girls raped and men forcefully circumcised. Of dreams shattered and lives unlived.
Of justice delayed, then denied. Of Uhuru Kenyatta, Francis Muthaura and Major Hussein Ali. Of the Mungiki.
To turn this recent history around and blame it on Raila Odinga who was never indicted by both Waki Commission and the ICC, is borne of desperation, but also out of a fallacious thinking that the electorate of 2013, who bought anti-Raila ICC “fixing” narrative, will buy it once more.
Raila has been a civilian for the last five years, if Uhuru as President has come across any evidence of his involvement in the 2007/08 violence, what has stopped him and his government from prosecuting Mr. Odinga?
*******
The nonsense about “41 against 1” is a creation of Kikuyus themselves, just like the new nonsense Uhuru is now talking about of “40 against 2”.
With technology, it is not difficult to unearth and review every political statement Raila uttered in that election. Get us the “41 against 1”.
Ordinary Kenyans from every part of the country have urgent needs that Jubilee has failed to meet and have no time to plot against each other.
Decent jobs for young people.
Fair and livable wages for teachers, nurses, lecturers, doctors and every professional out there.
Secure borders of a safe homeland.
Food. Clean water. Affordable housing and accessible healthcare.
Ordinary Kenyans just want to live peacefully with their neighbors and without this constant labeling for ethnic grouping.
A jobless Kikuyu youth is just as broke as a jobless Luo youth who is just as desperate for lucky day as a jobless Kalenjin youth. They all just want jobs. Period.
Uhuru is desperate to put Kikuyus and Kalenjins in a basket and make them believe they are under siege. That the other 40 communities are against them. No, we are not! That voting for him and Ruto is the only way they will protect themselves. Utter bullshit.
This is cheap politics from a fellow who not long ago said “tushindane kwa siasa ya sera”.
Uhuru is a liar, a sore loser and a vindictive, vengeful person.
UNFIT.
