Photo: Moses Kuria protested Uhuru move to evict over 7000 persons in Nairobi’s Kariobangi area to pave way for construction of a sewage facility.
The past 18 months or so have seen Uhuru systematically cut his deputy to size, sacking his allies from government, heightened propaganda that he is solely responsible for massive corruption in Jubilee regime, isolating him in running government by appointing CS Matiangi as chief Minister (Super CS) thus taking over some roles from Ruto, cutting his office budget etc etc
Well, it may appear that Uhuru is winning or just about to vanquish his deputy completely but then scandals are emerging as DP Ruto is still in isolation. Big question ; who is behind the corruption of COVID 19 funds?
And last week Nairobi’s Kariobangi residents woke up to the roaring of Earthmovers and Catterpilars demolishing what they have called their homes for years.
The government has ordered the demolition of their houses and outright eviction from the land it is alleged to have occupied illegally.
What shocked right thinking Kenyans is how the same government that issued the policy “staying at home and practice social distancing” as some of the precautionary measures against Covid-19 can evict people into wilderness and jungle of starvation and hunger!
That’s what happens to hoi polloi, the proletariat in a capitalist and bureaucratic society.
They are push to the precinct of troubles and miseries any time the rich and famous feel they shall stretch their wealth territories.
The advocates of the underdogs in such a republic had their palms greased at the footsteps of Harambe House, in the disguise of bringing truce to a politically troubled country.
We are on our own when we are thrown into wilderness of hunger and starvation, cold and wild animals.
Sad!
As per Gatundu MP Hon Moses Kuria, the president is using government machinery to promote his family business empire mainly the Northalnds City project, this is a soft ABUSE OF OFFICE. The president is also coming across as arrogant and insensitive to the poor masses in his backyard, majority of those affected in Kariobangi are his Kikuyu tribe. As poverty bites more, the poor in Central Kenya will rebel and vote for Ruto in protest. Uhuru may be fattening himself, to be fried in his own fat in his backyard of Mt Kenya.
