The health of the Kenyan economy can not be gaged by advertisements such as GoK delivers or by how the Relatives of those in power are doing, but by how the common Mwanainchi is doing.
The Jubilee administration says that under their rule, they have transformed the Kenyan economy to that of middle class economy where 89% of Kenyans are middle class.
By economic definition, a person qualifies to be called as middle class when he has savings in the bank of equivalent to at least 6 months of his salary, is left with at least 1/3 of his monthly salary for discretional spending: If your rent is Ksh 20,000; monthly food bill is Ksh 10,000; Loan payments is Ksh 10,000; Utilities & Entertainment Ksh 5000; Monthly savings Ksh 15,000; then you need to make at least Ksh 90,000 monthly to fit into the middle class bracket. How many of you reach or pass this threshold and it’s because of Jubilee?
As a Kenyan, how do you feel? Do you have more money to spend today than you did five years ago? Do you eat better today than you did five years ago? To our policemen, is your welfare better today than they were five years ago? Has your personal economy improved over the last five years that Jubilee has been in power? Have you felt the transformation that Jubilee is talking about?
As a business owner, do you pay less taxes today than you did five years ago? As an entrepreneur, is your business doing better today than it did five years ago? As a graduating young Kenyan, do you think you have a better chance of finding employment today than you did five years ago? As a taxi operator, do you make more money today than you did five years ago?
As a Kenyan, do you think your living standard is better today than five years ago? Are you buying Sugar, Unga, Paraffin, petrol or gas cheaper than you did five years ago? Are basic commodities cheaper today than they were five years ago?
As a parent, do you feel optimistic about the future of your children with Jubilee in power? Are you concerned with the borrowing under Jubilee? Have you received salary increase over the last year because of Jubilee?
If your economic conditions have not changed, or actually gotten worse compared to five years ago, ask Jubilee why should you trust them with the management of government for the next five years?
Kenyan problems is not lack of resources, but poor priorities by those in power: It’s only in kenya where politicians will spend Shs 100,000 on wheelbarrow and not on projects that transforms life; it’s only in kenya where the government will borrow money to renovate Statehouse.
It’s only in kenya where a government will import metal containers, buy sex toys and TVs using taxpayers money, as those same taxpayers starve to death.
It’s only in kenya where the President use billions for foreign trips, to borrow money, which his government used to buy new curtains for statehouse, rent houses for ambassadors abroad, and whatever is left, is corruptly stolen through none existing projects like those listed in Jubilee Delivery portal.
It’s only in kenya, where a policeman rides in a billion shillings truck, and then goes back to sleep without food in a one room shanty, where both male and female officers are forced to share, like you saw in Sagana.
As a tax payer, do you feel your taxes have been used properly?
When we pay taxes, we expect the government to use them to improve our situation collectively.
As you prepare to elect your president on 8/8/17, reflect on the future of your country. Think of the corruption scandals of the last five years; think of the massive borrowing of the Jubilee administration that has made every Kenyan to owe a debt of Shs 120,000.
Think about the future of your children; think about the prosperity that you want to live for them; think about those who died as a result of the doctors strike; think of those women forced to sell their children like the young lady in Naivasha, because Jubilee has made life so unbearable for them.
I have nothing personal against president Uhuru Kenyatta: I think he is a decent father to his children, a wonderful husband to his wife, a humorous and a likable guy who has failed in the duties of the presidency.
Under his leadership, unemployment stands at over 50%, the economy is stagnant, inflation stands at over 10%, the prices of basic commodities are on the rise, electricity is expensive, corruption is at all time high, NSE has lost over Shs 500 millions is stock value, we are ranked number 3 as the most corrupt nation on earth, our youths have no jobs, and our people starve to death.
Five years ago, President Uhuru and His Deputy Ruto, promised to transform kenya in their covenant with the Kenyan people address.
They promised to create 1 million jobs annually, grow the economy by double digits, lower the unemployment rate to under 10%, create a 24 hour economy, pay teachers their negotiated salary, honor pay Doctors the CBA, pay nurses, offer free Secondary education by 2016, give laptops to children joining standard one every year, provide food security, end corruption, unit Kenyans together.
In five years, they have reversed the gains made during the Coalition government. For five years, Jubilee has subjected Kenyans to untold sufferings and set our nation onto a path of extinction.
As a people, let’s rise up and join together to save our country by voting out Jubilee. Be the change your nation needs at this time. Knock on doors, encourage people to vote change, and do it for the love of your nation.
Voting out Jubilee is now no longer just a moral issue, it is an act of survival. Jubilee is an existential threat that Kenyans can afford another minute with after 8/8/17.
We are counting on you!!
