Senior most emissaries of the embattled Ford Kenya party comprising of executive officials and Members of parliament have today met William Ruto at the official residence and office of the Deputy President in Karen.
The Ford Kenya leaders led by their Secretary General and Kimilili MP Eseli Simiyu paid the Deputy President a courtesy call for possible coalition talks with Jubilee party amid emerging new political realignment following a handshake unity talks between H.E Raila Odinga and H.E Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a Facebook post made by William Ruto, the Jubilee Deputy Party Leader claimed that he met the Ford Kenya delegation drawn from Bungoma and TransNzoia to discuss development issues in line with Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big 4 agenda.
“Discussed development priorities and commitments made by the Government in areas of infrastructure, administrative units, boosting facilities in Sirisia and Ndalu sub county hospitals and realignment of constituency priorities to be in line with the Big Four. With MPs from Bungoma and Trans Nzoia counties at the Karen office, Nairobi” Said Ruto
The meeting comes barely hours after the Ford Kenya SG Eseli vowed never to allow “outsiders” to chat the way forward for the community. It happened just a day after they had barely resolved and pledged a possible merger with Mudavadi’s ANC to form one party for the Luhya nation.
“We will work together for the unity of the people of Western Kenya, As a team, we have agreed on modalities of ensuring that from now henceforth, Western people, the former Western Province including TransNzoia will move together as a team because previously, the Western people have been divided and a lot of these divisions have been caused by outsiders so that the western people appear to be disunited as the outsiders who cause the division benefit from it to ascend to certain positions in power. We are going to make sure that will be something of the past” Said Eseli in a statement they released on Wednesday March 28th that was seen as criticizing the NASA Leader Raila Odinga.
Mysteriously absent and probably by design in this meeting with Ruto was the Ford-Kenya Party Leader Moses Wetangula who sources requesting anonymity claimed feared being accused of betraying Musalia Mudavadi with their push to Luhya Unity.
